Officially the Orvis MISSION Trout Spey, Short Spey, Switch, and Full Spey series rods. Just announced, totally updated for the 2025-2026 fishing season.

First impression is that they look awesome. I really hate to say this but I might like the look even more than the Helios. Don't tell Orvis I said that. The light gray with orange accents is very cool.

Just got the first of these rods tested. This review will take me awhile to complete. There is much more variation between these models than the typical saltwater 9'0" rods I usually review. (There's also currently a huge heat wave in the entire Southeast right now with temps over 100 degrees for the next week so I don't know that any typical Spey lines will survive that).

   

 

*These are very cool rods and I look forward to testing more of them when I have time. As usual the demands of running a fly shop and making sure all my customers receive their orders as fast as possible must come first before any reviews or anything fun like that. I do have the new Mission rods here and I will be testing them as soon as I have time. Many other cool things will be reviewed as well, as soon as I can get to it.
