The Exocett Bluewater

After extensive development and testing, Thomas and Thomas are excited to announce the launch of our new big game fly rod, the Exocett Bluewater.  The Exocett Bluewater is a three piece, 8’ 4” series of rods, consisting of two models.  There is a 13/14wt rod, and a 15/16wt rod.  These rods are both designed with not only fish fighting strength, but also castability with floating, intermediate and sinking lines.  The 13/14wt is designed for 500-600gr lines.  The 15/16wt is designed for 600-750gr lines. 

The Exocett Bluewater features a progressive loading blank.  This blank is designed for ultimate strength, combining proprietary carbon and S-glass layups into each section of the rod.  These rods have a complex reinforcement strategy, that allows for immense strength but also reinforces critical areas essential during prolonged vertical fights.  The lifting power of these blanks is immense, and the progressive action profile ensures that maximum pressure is always applied to the fish and relieves stress from the angler.  

The guide selection of the Exocett Bluewater is crucial, with strategic guide placement to ensure a smooth load to the entire blank during the fight, and guides that are selected for the utmost in durability.  

The grip on the Exocett Bluewater is a standard composite nose full wells, with a IGFA legal length fighting butt.  The foregrip is a textured synthetic, for comfort and secure grip during long fights.  

With this innovative three piece design, the rod can be stored in a 36” tube, for easier travel.
