Sage R8 Core Fly Rod Review - New Rod Series Announced - The Best Rods from SAGE
The new Sage R8 Core fly rod series has just been announced by Sage! We have them here in the shop and they look and feel great! This was our announcement post but check out the full R8 Core Review here.
The new R8 is an "all-water" rod series which replaces the Sage X series in the lineup. With that in mind, expect similar size/wt options to the X.
*After hearing many requests we will do a full model-by-model breakdown and review of these rods very soon. We also know people want to hear more about which lines to pair with each rod so we are happy to help with that too!
Here's an overview of all the new R8 Core models:

5wt: 590, 586, 5100
6wt: 690, 6100, 696
7wt: 790, 7100,
8wt: 890, 8100
9wt: 990 (*Just buy the new Sage SALT R8 version now that it is out, although this one is excellent)
